There are two things of certainty in life: Death & Taxes. PleasantKenobi did a recent video on it, that is worth taking a look: Vulnerable also to Force of Will and Chalice of the Void. Weaknesses: Vulnerable to Rest In Peace and Leyline of the Void effects and other graveyard hate. Strengths: Solid Budget deck with good Legacy Format staples (Griselbrand, Unmask, Lotus Petal, Cabal Therapy), explosive deck that can win games and a deck that can be upgraded over time to the tiered version of the deck. Your goal is to discard your most powerful creatures through your discard and use your reanimator spells to bring your creatures back to life and then combo off (mainly with Griselbrand). Mono-Black Reanimator is another good budget choice (it’s a budget version of Rakdos Reanimator) and this deck’s power level is really high. You then take advantage of the synergy between your dredgers and your graveyard for some explosive games and then win!Īdvantages: Very Inexpensive, get to play the game differently, play games where you have an explosive start.ĭisadvantages: Mulligans poorly, and you just die to almost any graveyard hate, no real format staples.
The card you want to discard is a card with dredge. The main reason for why this deck is so cheap is because there is no lands! With this deck you want to take the draw (weird I know!), so that way you discard a card at the end of your turn to hand size. Manaless Dredge is another good budget deck.
While Mono-Red Prowess is a spell-heavy aggro deck, where you play a prowess creature, cast burn spells to pump those creatures, attack and keep doing that until your opponent is dead.Īdvantages: Great for learning the format, quick wins, easy and simple to play (for the most part), win games, and very cheap.ĭisadvantages: You just die to fast combos, Oko, Thief of Crowns wrecks you, lack format staples. Burn is basically a direct damage deck where you just fling your burn spells at your opponent until they hit zero life. Let’s talk about the cheapest you can go here: Burn and Mono-Red Prowess. But there are “Budget” decks out there in Legacy and today we are going to take a look at some of the “Budget” decks in Legacy. Legacy is expensive thanks to the high prices of the fetchlands and the Reserved List (which I still call for it’s abolishment because I think it’s a big mistake from Wizards). There’s just one obstacle that seems to prevent people from taking the plunge into Legacy: The prices. Anything can happen in Legacy! And I always will encourage players to give Legacy a try. Legacy imo is the best constructed format with the most interaction, and is the format where your decisions matter the most.
